Attributed to the Master of the Female Half-lengths: Portrait of Thomas de Thiennes and his family (1525-1550)

A painting which is attributed to the unknown Flemish artist with the notname 'Master of the Female Half-lengths'. This painting shows Thomas I de Thiennes (1534-1558), his wife Marguerite de Haméricourt and their family. Thomas I de Thiennes, lord of Rumbeke, was a general in the army of Holy Roman emperor Charles V and his son king Philip II of Spain. The castle in the background is castle Rumbeke - property of the Thiennes-family from 1467 to 1856. Painting from 1525-1550.
